We are incredibly proud to showcase the inspiring and diverse artwork from Amistad's talented students, recently featured in the Desert Sands district-wide Art Show. This year brought significant recognition for our students, as the superintendent selected two pieces from Amistad—works by Kimberly Magdaleno-De La Torre and Jaslyn German—to be displayed in the Superintendent's Office for the upcoming year.
The exhibition features powerful expressions of student thought and creativity, covering themes that resonate deeply with their experiences. These include pieces addressing political engagement like "Punks Against ICE", personal reflections on loss and tradition such as "My Dad Miguel", and commentary on daily life and local issues, including the balance of "Deadlines and Distractions", the importance of "School Lunch", and the striking contrast of "Big Sky Country". We invite you to explore the work of these exceptional student artists.
